I'm having issues with high idle when the aircon is on. When it's off it idles fine around the 750rpm mark. When I have the heater going the idle is the same. No idle issues hot or cold. But when I switch the aircon on it idles around the 2k mark which is a pain as you really have to use the brakes when slowing down. When I put it in park (aircon going), it will eventually drop down to around 1100rpm.

Yea I have a very similar problem.. I Changed all belts which linked to the ac compressor Inc my timing belt and my idle has come down a little. My Mechanic told me that in order for your A/C unit to function it causes the belt to spin faster and with a streached belt in turn causes your engine to turn over quicker hence the idle going up to 2200 rpm.. Give it a try though once again don't quote me on it ;)
