Hi guys, Check out my video and let me know what you think with the noise - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWtUP8xzLcU It's coming up with the engine symbol, won't go past 2000rpm and making a weird clugging noise, I believe it's the ECU playing up, and yes the car has stalled on me as well! Let me know what you think!

have you done the error code check as it sounds like your car has gone into limp mode. read the how to section on putting the car into error check mode and come back with the errors flashing up.

I haven't put it into error check mode yet, but reason I believe it's the ecu is because driving it home from work tonight, it hasn't had a single issue whatsoever, like I put the foot down waiting for the problem to come back and it disappeared! I'll do error code checking tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it's the ecu! It didn't sound anything like it did earlier on today and yeah no issues whatsoever.

Okay guys I took it over to Juzza's this morning, it was working perfectly then, but i swapped over the ecu with another working one and decided to plug in the piggyback again, well drove it and same issues started happening again so we pointed the finger at the IFT unit, swapped ecu's over again and did a full reset but still the car's in limp mode. I'm thinking if i leave the car still for a couple of hours all might be well. Will keep this updated.

If it's still in limp mode after the reset, the code should be there still and give you an indication of where the problem is exactly.

Okay I've changed the ecu over for another one, still having the same issue, I'm getting the engine check light & I've looked at the soarer diagnostics how too and I'm still not sure how I'm supposed to get a code out of it! This is driving me insane Any help would be appreciated.

its pretty simple. just turn your ignition to on... pop the bonnet, over on the intake side of engine bay there is a small black box with diagnostics written on it. pop that box get a piece of wire, metal anything conductible that'll bend into a U shape (even speaker wire will do) and bridge the E1 and the TE1 plugs, use the bottom of the diagnostic box lid as your reference. go have a look at the check engine light, it should be flashing, note down the flashes and compare them to the guide. ie 2 quick flash a pause and 4 quick flashes is the air intake sensor. there will obviously be a longer pause in between error codes if there are multiple codes

My god have I learned a lot today! Okay I followed the instructions that you gave me Shane, the pics from soarer world really helped - http://www.soarerworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28928 - And yeah I finally found the issue, it was actually my IFT piggyback, when I put the bypass wire back into it, I put it into the light green and not the dark green, so yeah eventually got it fired up and took it for a spin! Feels stock which it is atm with the ECU, but yeah definitely getting the piggyback retuned as it has a lifetime warranty. Appreciate all the help guy's and I've definitely learned a lot from this

Okay it seems that what I had was an apparent fix, it's now going back into limp mode again! Will post diagnostics shortly...this is so frustrating, one moment I'm over the moon and the next it's in limp again haha Starting to think it might be a coil pack with the weather and stuff but will post up here shortly!

you should resest your ecu to wipe all the error codes. after reseting your ecu run the diagnostic and with diagnostic running take your soarer for a drive. if you have done this already what error code are you getting? there is no point second guessing and fixing stuff that dosnt need to be. one you have the error code it might be a easy fix. good luck man

Okay so I did the diagnostics test and my results were: 5 blinks followed by a pause then 3 blinks followed by a pause and then 1 blink

Which I'm now thinking it says it's the knock control signal or so it says, that's the only error I'm getting!

well code 53 is your knock control signal. that would make alot of sense as these/your problems are related with this. maybe your ecu is stuffed? any snipped wires? i think i read that you have tried another woking ecu...if not do so

I'm hoping it's not the ECU, but I did swap it around with another working one, I mean what's the odds that their both past their used by date haha Justin was going to help me out with the wires on the loom, they aren't looking the best but I don't believe their to the point of causing these issues. It originally started with one ecu and has also happened with the other ecu, so I'm guessing I probably need another knock sensor which I'm looking into at the moment and it looks like a hassle to get too. That's the only error code I got thank goodness but yeah I'll definitely need something done asap! I have to catch public transport tomorrow

It's weird, the car runs perfectly fine on cold nights, yet when the weather warms up a little it goes back to running like crap! Any ideas?

Actually that's a good question Matthew, I'll mention it, just weird how at night when it's really cold, I'll push it to it's limits and even hit boost cut because I took off the piggyback, yet when I try doing that during the day when it's not as cold as night it goes into limp mode coming up with error 53!

I may have missed a few minor things but here goes: MARLEW BFI, Dump Pipes and Exhaust System * Stainless Pipe Work and Polished Alloy Under Bonnet * TRUST FMIC * RIVAL Performance Mufflers * Viper Car Alarm with Remote Start * IFT - Perfect Power * Manual Boost Controller - Turbo Smart * HKS Exhaust Cam Gear * MV 1.5 Shift Kit * DBA Slotted Front Rotors * MALTECH Steel Braided Brake Lines * KYB Performance Struts * Lowered KING Springs * Pedders Extreme coilover suspension * SAAS Front Seats * OMP 4 Point Harness * Auto Technica Steering Wheel * ARISING ONE Body Kit * DEVIZE 17” Rims Running with the IFT at 15psi and when I did a test tonight, I plugged the IFT back in and the error 53 - knock sensor came up straight away even though other nights if I drive it stock I get no issues when it's really cold! The error only comes up when I get boost, except for cold nights when I can flog it while hitting boost cut and it's fine, if I do the same thing during the day it brings up the knock sensor error, so I'm starting to think It's definitely a faulty knock sensor!
