so it looks like i have cracked the bottom tank on my Rad so im wondering wether this is the right opertunity to upgrade to a bling alloy one or stick with the stocky.

mind you it also depends how much mucking around you want to do to fit it i spent somewhere between 5-10 hours making brackets and cutting around the stock shroud to make it work.

im looking at the PWR 55mm core at the moment as its a direct drop in for the stocky. i dont run the clutch fan and shroud as i have 2x "14inch thermos sucking the air through.

i dont run the standard clutch fan as i didnt like how much room it took up. my current twin 14 inch thermo's are more than sufficiant but i will getting a custom scroud made from stainless for the twins anyway.

If you want to waste 1k to replace a working part with exactly the same working part ,Might wanna get your head checked to make sure there isnt an " I Owe You " note in there somewhere ???
I think you need to re-read exactly what you wrote and see how insane it is reading it from the other end yeah ?
If it is a show car , maybe i will forgive you .
But the stock unit has shown to work with cars doind regular circuit work and drag racing applications , making big power . SO it works really well
Some guys however have had issues with " Bling " ones not flowing or working as efficiently .

Daniel, what exactly did I write that sounds insane? I'm not sure about you guys but my new radiator dropped my temperature 8 degrees. I changed the stock radiator twice with no results to show for. I also didn't say anything about going for bling. Pretty fierce comments towards me with only the intention to reinforce the stock radiator is good? I know its good, but it was not working for me. I never did say the stock radiator/clutch fan was bad, in fact I asked why the OP wanted to ditch the clutch fan.

Cheers Brett, no harm done. I wasn't offended by anyone.
But I just wanted to let everyone know that the stock setup is indeed very robust and efficient.
However, with a stock JZZ31 radiator (I have no idea whether it has the same core or construction as a JZZ30) it was not up to the task of maintaining optimum temperature for the 2JZ-GTE. The 2JZ-GTE runs quite hot and my primary goal is to get it to run at around 95C.
I also understand a lot of people have got problems with aftermarket radiators, this however is attributed to; - construction of the radiator (Quality Assurance) - installation (proper installation to ensure no electrical grounding issues and most of all electrolysis) - unsuitable coolant type - etc
But I can confirm that a well-built radiator of good design and of course a thicker core makes a difference.
