Just got my car back from my mechanic and during idle there is a lot vibration. Before taking my car, the idle wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t bad either.
When warm the revs drop to 600 and that’s when it’s worst. But even at 700-1k there is a lot of vibration. What I’ve also noticed is that the passenger side door vibrates noticeably more than the drivers side.
What has been done (btw 2JZ-GE vvt-i)
New NGK iridium spark plugs (BKR6EIX-11) New Engine mounts (12360-46111) (supra mounts meant to be superior) New Trans mount (12371-46020) New Drive belt New Drive belt tensioner pulley bearing Cleaned Throttle body Changed oil and filter

Yeah the vibration with mine came because all the coil pack clips where broken by the mechanic and they never said anything. Clips are 50 bucks on eBay

I had a horrible vibration on the left side of my car once caused by the left engine mount bolt having come off from where it attaches to the subframe! Replaced it and all was well again. Might be worth checking the new engine mount?

Vac line off on a turbo = No boost , and on a VVti would be major issues as they run an AFM and not a Map sensor like the Non VVti .
Im guessing Engine mount bolt loose, possbile coil pack clip issues , OR the fact you now have NEW engine mounts , you may be just noticing an already existing issue that couldnt be felt with bad engine mounts ?
Harmonic balancer on its way out ? But even with mine gone , i didnt feel/notice any vibrations ...
However im sure my Engine mounts could do with being replaced

Thanks for the input guys.
I've checked 2/3 coil packs (ones right under throttle body which I didn't attempt to remove). The only thing I noticed on one, was that the release tab was broken and you could just pull it off. But the actual inside of the plug looked fine(still had the white plastic pin guides). Is that what to look out for?
The car drives fine, it still has power and feels responsive. Would a coil pack clip affect that?
I've dropped the car off at my mechanics today, im hoping he'll check the bolts to the mounts.

2JZ-GE, so no turbo - I don't know if the 2JZ-GE VVTi, uses AFM or MAP - the original 2JZ-GE doesn't use coil packs, so it must be quite different in a lot of areas.
Yeah, the fact that once the revs come up its fine - well that's really got to be either something to do with the throttle body, or something letting the engine move around too much - pretty unlikely to be electrical or fuel related or it would be misbehaving at revs too. Did they stuff around with the throttle position sensor or anything like that?

If it is coil pack clips a 'check engine' warning light should flash on your dash, or warning 'bong', then run diagnostics. Or just run diagnostics anyway.

So I have the car back, it feels slightly better but vibration is still there. Looking at the drivers side mount, is the heat plate still needed with these mounts?

Did you also fit a harder g/box mount?
Nope, standard Soarer trans mount.

I'd bet on the Harmonic balancer and the fact they have just been working on the belts etc could also indicate they haven't tightened the balancer back up or somehow reinstalled it incorrectly, get it checked asap as you don't want it coming off if that's what it is. My v8 falcon ute just had the same problem although there was no visible signs of any problems. It would shake the doors at idle and slightly smoothen out at higher rpm but was pretty bad all round. Any way $220 for a new balancer later and it was smooth again.

My mechanic friend told me to use a funnel and long piece of hose like a stethoscope , you will hear air leaks easier that way. But the easiest is just put soapy water around all the air lines probably.

Just an update. Fixed the issue, went back to the basics and just changed the engine mounts to new factory soarer ones. Completely different you can barely feel the car on. Thanks for all the suggestions.
