Hi,

Just wanting to get an idea of which ATF to Use on my a340 box. Guys at autobarn were trying to get me to buy universal dex 3.

Looking for some good stuff, running about 300kw atw.

I'd use Castrol Transmax Z. Full synthetic dex 3 compatible trans fluid.

I also use that for my power steering.

You'll need at least 12 litres for a flush. Box hold about 8.4 litres from memory. You'll only get a little under 2 litres out of the sump, the rest will be in the torque converter and pump - best thing to do is disconnect the upper cooler line, start the engine, let it pump about 2 litres into a bucket, then stop the engine and top up with fresh fluid - repeat until fluid coming out of the cooler line is clean.

Yep, What Matthew said. Full flush will need 12L or so, and you'll want to do this if changing to a different brand/type of fluid (ie. mineral to synthetic)

yes definitely a full flush.

I've been looking at the Red line Range today, their range seems very good for our cars
