| I just install a boost gauge. if any one can help me to find good vacuum line, that will be really appreciate. i already use a vacuum line from the intake[there are small three vacuum lines come out from the bottom of the intake]. But I cant see any readings in the gauge. I install turbo smart boost gauge [same one in the photo]. When I start the car gauge is goes down and stay at in between 10-20 [below the 0]. I drive it full throttle nothing will happen. If any body can show me the correct vacuum line with photos that will be really appreciate.

Well, I guess that could be it. The reading should still change when you put your foot down though.

basically you need to tap into a line that comes directly off the intake manifold as you need it after throttle body to get both vacuum and boost readings. there is a few fittings that come off at the outside you can t pieceinto one of them and should be fine. they would be at the top middle of the picture above and the fittings point downwards. if you still continue to only get vacuum reading then you may have a possible faulty gauge

oh and never tee off your fuel regulator or map sensor lines as if you get a leak you will most likely lean out and engine kaboom $$$

Correct, do not tap off lines that are need for air/fuel readings. I used the one that goes to the heater core, the most rear one coming off the plenum. Check if the gauge is faulty by using a short line in the engine bay and reving the motor from the throttle body. Also check for kinks in the line. You really should know if your car is boosting or not... can't you feel or hear it?

problem solved. thanks guys. what happen was my vacuum line towards to gauge is jam. i fix it. all good. thanks again. and also i change my vacuum line to heater core. anyway my car is stock condition. i can hit 10 psi at 3500-4000 rpm. what you guys think. i want to up the boost up to 13-15 psi. how much is the safe level for stock car...? i'm going to use Turbosmart manual boost controller.

Sounds about right.

Most people seem to think 14psi is the limit with stock dumps, few people have gone higher with no problems with aftermarket dumps, so its up to you if you want to risk it or not though i wouldn't wind up the boost without a tune of some sort |

Also you might hit boost cut (fuel cut) if you boost near 14psi as the manual boost controllers spike a lot on cold nights/days. With an intercooler, filter, dumps + exhaust your boost will automatically raise and you WILL hit boost cut so you will have to find a way around that by using an aftermarket ECU, piggy-back ECU or Fuel Cut Defender.

He just means an aftermarket air filter, like a Pod filter or panel filter. You should wait until you get your exhaust before winding the boost up as you will find it will rise naturally with a more free flowing exhaust.

did you get dump pipes with that? the system won't be as effective if it has a bottle neck early in the system.

Yeah thats the same system I got. Then I put in the dump pipes after and that made a huge difference. Expensive step though as prices range from 400-900 dollars for the pipes alone, then fitting them is another thing. 4hrs labour (if they know what they're doing) charging at 80-100 dollars per hour, you do the maths.

Can someone put a pic of the best hose to tap from? The last hose on my plenum goes to the brake booster and that wouldn't be a good line to tap from!
