Yeah I have always thought Shell V Power was better then the others. Don't know why, could just be a mental thing but the car does feel like it has a bit more grunt when I get it.

Tried Caltex 98 last week. Slightly higher on the knock sensor than Ultimate, though not a lot. Still a fair bit lower than the Shell.

Would have no qualms using Caltex again.

Well, I got stuck last week with no option but to fill with V power.

This was from a busy service station on a busy road so unlikely to be old fuel.

Again, it sent the knock meter off the scale. It even registered significantly higher running 12 psi than ultimate or caltex does at 22 psi.

I will put my car on a tilt tray before I put v power in it again.

Shell got higher knock readings on my pwrfc. BP ultimate was never an issue bar one time in a country town I filled up and got bad knock readings. Guess it was just bad luck/bad fuel.

Just wondering, how does this knock sensor thing show up? I've been on V power all the while and don't feel any "knocking" issues.

Perhaps some clarifications so i could test this out as well.

The powerFC engine computer that scott uses shows knock values on the LCD hand controller screen. You wont hear it unless its pinging like crazy....
