Since I bought my Soarer there was always a slight seep from the lower oil pan. Now, one year later it has progressed to the point where it leaks 1-2 drops after running from the lower seal, and there is evidence of seeping from on the Upper pan also.
I have read over several threads regarding the matter of removing the pans and resealing with Toyota FIPG. I understand that the subframe must be dropped (and in some cases the engine raised) to perform the work.
My shop quoted me 10 hours labour, which included dropping the front subframe, and also raising the motor a few inches for clearance. Does this sound reasonable? I understand access is a bitch, but I was hoping to fix the issue for less than $1000.
Has anyone who has tackled this issue give me some input? It would be greatly appreciated.

Gary - thanks for the reply.
Are you referring to the rear main? Rear main seal was just done this summer - I checked and it's still bone dry back there.
It's definitely coming from the seal on the sump. Some of the FIPG is seeping out around the lower pan where it seals, and it's leaking from those points. I'm afraid trying to tighten the pan down more will only make things worse.

There is a Front crank seal as well. It seaps down the holes and onto the sump and crossmember. But yeah if your sure its the sump, then your in for a world of pain mate. Either pull the engine out, or drop the crossmember. I think both are just as hard. so its up to you.
