Hi Guys
Just a quick one to let you know that Turbosmart has just released a 1JZ factory BOV blanking kit!
When replacing the poor flowing factory BOV with a high flowing unit such as a Turbosmart BOV you will need to blank off the hole that remains from removing the factory BOV. Finally there is now a kit available for you to do this with ease, eliminating the need to have something made up and all the running around associated with it!
Part Number: FG-ADM-1JZBLNK Price: $75.95 inc GST Contains: 1x Machined billet alloy BOV blank, factory plumb back return pipe billet alloy blanking plug, constant tension SS hose clamp and full photo instructions. Available from: All good performance parts outlets.

These were avaliable when you bought a BOV kit off Turbosmart, but the blanking part itself was not avaliable seperately.
I rung them up asking about buying the blanker itself and they said not avaliable but there have been many people asking and they are trying to sort it out. I guess they have sorted it out and quite frankly I am excited. I will be ordering one.
I might walk over to hyperdrive which is two doors down from work and do it now!

anyone have a photo of this installed? Does the cap for the boosted side go over the existing hole and holes clamp on? I may try to replicate it on this side of the ocean.

Well David, I guess a $2000 lathe, a couple of hundred bucks for tools, $20 in materials and an hour or two of your time is worth less than $70? ... Just joking.. not made in China, so not priced from China...sorry...lol
Buy this part for $70 then you will save the $2500 to buy your AC tig!
I always encourage the "hands on people" to fabricate, for me personally its half the fun, but without a lot of equipment its an easy way to solve the problem.

I've just called a few Canadian Turbo Smart distributors, they want $170.00 for the thing. The only part number they show is FG-ADM-SOARER. Shipping from down under can't be that much can it?

Yeah dave. I know what you're saying. that's why it hurts, because i'd consider buying it when i know how easy it would be to make.
Warranty? it's a solid block of aluminium! how could it fail?
My last job had all the set up. i really miss that part of it! BTW, is there anything wrong with just leaving the stock one there with the vacuum line disconnected? do they leak boost at high PSI?
just thinking, a TIG could do IC pipes, exhaust, dumps AND be a tax deduction for me...

they're a cup shaped plug of steel that presses into the engine block, into holes that are there from some part of the casting proscess. they let the sand out if the cast block i think. Also called core plugs.

Kurt, yes you can mate but you may be better off purchasing one that can be plumbed back into the exhaust side, as the atmo BOV's are illegal and you will be easily defected for it.

Yes, I left mine exactly the way you described thinking there would be no problem. The other Day my tuner asked me if it was blocked i said no. So he blocked it (Well sorta blocked it, i still have do it properly) and i gained around 15rwkw.
