Hi guys,

Not 100% sure whether I'm getting good fuel consumption or not, around town and going for it I average about 330kms to a tank which includes traffic etc, but I wanted to change my o2 sensors so that I possibly never have to worry about them again and hopefully get better fuel economy even when I take it easy :-)

I heard there was 2 from looking around the net but can't exactly know which one's I require. I have a 1992 TT so I'm guessing I'm 1 wire but are both o2 sensors the same part number and which brand?

Cheers :-)

There is only 1 , located in the dumps . The other sensor further down after the cat is just an overheating sensor for when the cat converter fails .

Ohk makes sense now, any idea of a part number by any chance and a particular brand?

Couple of threads around with that info, but i have my own question while this thread is around:

I want to get a wideband o2 sensor to fit the narrowband sensor point. I just want to replace the current broken narrowband with a brand new wideband.

Has anyone got any advice for what I'd be looking for or should i just get a shop to cut and weld something instead?

umm yeah the O2 bung on the dumps from memory is not standard.

If you want a AEM kit or similar with bosch wideband sensor. then you will need to weld in the bung that comes with the kit near the dumps.

fuel efficiency is a combination of ECU condition, O2 sensor condition, Injector condition, turbo condition and engine condition.

330 a tank is very poor. and it may be other problems, even when my o2 sensor was stuffed i was getting better than that.

should be 500-600 around town and up to 800 on the highway.
