I don't know about you guys, but since i owned this car, ive never been able to fully fill the tank, ever. The dash stops one bar from the full marker.I keep putting more fuel into the tank and the pump keeps clicking from the backfill. i even pull it out a bit and dribble it in but i can be there for up to 8-10 mins trying to fill it up and it still wont register full. Is there a trick to this or is this normal?

yeah mate you can fully fill the tank and you shouldn't have to stuff around with it when the pump clicks off the tank should be full as suggested you should give cleaning your sender a go its very easy and there is a tute in the how to section

GAH! I don't know how you guys do it, but i can't fully fill my tank. The Soarer fuel tank is what, 78L or so isn't it? I got to 66L, and i could see the fuel level at the top of the filling tube. That's right, i could take the cap off, and could see the fuel level right there. So my sender is reading fine, but i can't seem to fill the tank up fully. I had to baby the fuel in as well, was a good 10 minute job, couldn't just shove the nozzle in and pump on full, it just kept backwashing and clicking the pump off. Has anyone had this problem before? How could i go about fixing it? It's driving me nuts. :/

70L is what it holds
Toyota believe it is 78L. They could be wrong though...
I think what everyone is trying to say is YOUR SENDER UNIT MIGHT BE GIVING AN INCORRECT READING! ie, your tank is full, however your sender is not registering it, so it is not showing up on the dash. Or maybe there is some fault in your dash and the last bar in the fuel gauge is kaput.
Regardless, what you are experiencing is not normal.
The soarer tank is pretty much a round drum between the suspension towers. The filler goes in the top. Due to the design there are no air pockets that can be preventing fuel from entering the tank.

Hmm, well if 70L is what it holds then 66 would be about spot on. I'll have to wait till the tanks nearly empty again to pull the sender out without making a huge mess. Although, its still off that I can't just put the nozzle in all the way, pull the trigger and let it go full blast until 60L or so. Hmmm gonna have to look into this.

Definitely managed to fit more than 70L in the tank, most I think was about 73 when the dash was saying about 4L left. The reason why ^^ thought 70 I guess is because the dash will just say "FUEL FULL" above 70L.
