I have a few question I need to ask, most of which are about the turbos, hence posting it here.
1. When taking the intake piping off the turbos (to do the polish tut), are there any gaskets I need to put it back together? I want to make sure I have everything need, so I don't get caught out lol
2. How can I tell if the turbos have steel wheels? I am new to all of this, so stop laughing :-P
3. Where do I tap in a boost gauge?
4. Is there an easy way to get the car to dose? Yes, I'm "one of those" type of car nuts. i love the dose lol I've read something to do with the air intake. But that it can also damage stuff....?
5. Where is the best place to install a aftermarket BOV? I want to keep it out of sight as much as possible.
6. What exactly is entailed by having turbos hi-flowed?
7. Is it possible to get silcon joiners for the FMIC in any other colour than blue? lol

1. Thin steel factory gaskets are fine to reuse, unless really bent. 2. magnets don't stick to ceramic exhaust wheels. 3. tee off any of the vacuum lines that attach to the inlet manifold(but preferably not the one to the fuel pressure regulator) 4. -(act your age!) Kurt's intake pipes give best result 5.The best way to hide the BOV is to choose a mostly hidden section of the intercooling piping (mostly plastic if it is factory) and replace it with a section of steel or alloy with the appropriate fitting for a BOV. Then choose something like a turbosmart "stealth" BOV(black), or even a jza80 factory one. 6. generally, the turbine and compressor housings will be machined to allow the fitting of slightly larger wheels(not always the exhaust housing), usually using steel exhaust wheels for increased reliability. Very few people have achieved a good power gain without the turbos being slower to spool. Not impossible, but can be hard(or expensive) to achieve. 7. There are several suppliers of black silicon hose, a simple search of the internet or ebay is likely to yield a result. Otomoto is one that springs to mind. Let me know if you can't source. 4. act your age(again)

6 - When you say slower to spool. How much slower? 7 - I've seen heaps of blue and black. I've even found some red, but I want green!! Bloody Landrover defenders get fluro green ffs lol 4/5 - I don't want to act my age, too boring

Well, I have three CT12A's sitting here, not including the ones on the car now . So i was thinking of getting a pair rebuilt and hi-flowed.
Now the question is; Cost/performance wise (only have about $1500 to play with) am I better off getting them rebuilt and hi-flowed or can I get another pair of turbos that will replace the stockies and give good performance?

David you can get good power out of standard ct-12's as long as they are in ok condition! Some people are pushing 250rwkw's give or take, which is some good power figure's.
Just make sure you have a good free flowing exhaust, dump, and a good intercooler and then maybe get it tuned.
Even go 440 injector's if the cash stretches that far!
