Hey guys, hopefully one can explain how turbo supporting mods raise the boost without use of a boost controller? I have bfi, 2.5 dumps to 3" merge, 3" hiflow cat, resonator, split to 2 2.5" to mufflers, and my cars already hitting boost cut.. Someone asked me how the boost can raise on its own just by mods, and I had no idea how to reply to him, he mentioned that the boost shouldn't raise without a boost controller unless I was changing the wastegate spring, in which I haven't.

Enzo the mods have allowed you turbos to move more air and they don't have to work any harder to do so, because you have removed the big restriction which is the factory y piece. simple

Yes, it allows more air to flow freely. Simply put it, the quicker you can get air into that engine and out, the quicker your car will be because it will be easier for it without the restricting factory exhaust, pipes etc.

Ahh, thanks for the help guys, seeing as this is my first turbo car, im new to the whole boost thing lol, I'm currently awaiting a HKS FCD, and going to put the boost cut level a notch higher then the boost its making, which im unsure of at the moment. I just hope its not going to lean out and blow shiz up.. but i plan to run it to a dyno tuner to see if he can do some tests just to make sure that its max boost is at a safe AFR..

I have steel wheels in it, put them in with the dump pipe, just not high flowed, i don't really want to up the boost too much more, i wouldn't mind finding out how much it can handle without leaning out, as I'm still on the factory ECU, but yeah, just want to find where its naturally boosting to, and if its leaning out or not. Any Soarer experts in NSW?

you'll probably want to know power figures if your starting to get up around the 200kw mark need to think about some gear box mods if you plan on keeping it a while
