Hi All,
I require an expert advice on smoke blowing through my exhaust in my TT.
I had asked my mechanic regarding this and he reckoned it was leaking valve stem seals. So, decided to fix it and got it to my mechanic. He fixed it and the seals were screwed really bad and he told it was the worst ones he has seen. Now, after fixing it he says its still blowing smoke when the car warms up to the operating temp.
I am now worried a lot wondering what the real problem is. Also, my turbos were blown at the same time as the leak started. Could this be due to leaking turbo seals? But if this is the case, then I would assume that the already present oil in the leaked turbo should come out of the exhaust right away and not after warming up.
Another thing that crossed my mind is the already present oil in the exhaust system due to the bad leak which is now getting flushed out?
Kindly people who know what is going on here please advice as I already spent a fortune (at least for a student) fixing this. Waiting for your advice.

I had the same problem only 2 weeks ago i put new valve stem seals in and she still smoked but not as bad, replace the rear turbo cause it had the most play and gave the engine a oil change she stoped smoking, it only smoked when walm and only when i hit the throtle again, just curious what did you mechanic charge for the valve stem seals?

So replacing the blown turbo could change things drastically?
I used to use Penrite 10W 40 full synthetic before. I am not sure what it has got in it currently as the mechanic did a oil change. Pretty sure not a synthetic oil in it currently. The odo reads roughly 125000 kms.
Any other opinions/ideas of what could be the possible reason for this smoke?

That's a fair bit of smoke but can't tell you exactly as I am yet to get my car back from the workshop. I was told that the car was still smoking with the valve stem seals replaced only after warming up but not as bad as before.
That's good news Rocky. So a fmic could help things better? I mean, other than just performance gains? I have got a fmic mounted on my car but have to get the piping in as I am yet to replace the pod filter with a stock airbox to prevent defects.
Mine is option 2 Ali and I will fix the turbos and see how it goes. But yeah by the looks of it I have no where else to go than the turbos, right?

Im not sure if it helps having a fmic ( i know of heat soak the stock can hwve) but i would asume it would help keep them cooler my next step is aftermarket dumps to blow that hot air away as the stock dumps are restrictive later down the track ill think about munros high flows

yeah i was thinking the same thing. a inter cooler will cool down the air going into the engine, does nothing to the hot air gases coming out of the exhaust.
if anything a larger front mount will cause everything to run ever so slightly hotter due to the fact you'll have a big obstruction in front of the radiator affecting the efficiency of the air passing through the radiator fins meaning it can't cool down the coolant as much.
