Well i finally got the thing on the dyno at east coast customs last week and i couldnt be happier. With no boost control or safc correction it ran up 208hp @8psi with afrs in the tens. Boost was wound up in stages and up to 40% fuel trimmed. Highest number was 245 rwkts @15 psi so this gives me a tiny bit of headroom on colder nights as it was 30 degrees on the day. Boost kicks in around 3000rpm and full around 3800. Like how around town it gives whiffs of boost under light load (1-3psi)

Its a totally different animal now, flat footing at around 40km is unreal, there is wheelspin...(smell it..) but its the perfect balance between slip and grip, the revs stay up until its topping out second and from there 180 comes up very quick.

Will try to get a dyno sheet up asap.

wow, i thought the 5858 was the perfect turbo for a 2.5 litre auto, in terms of getting it off the line well for drags.
but 3800rpm for 15 psi is fine.. tell us about the rear housing. T4?, split entry? A/R?
A 6262 is probably rated at around 700hp maybe more, so there is a heap left in it yet.

Yeah blake 6262 is a 700hp turbo.
I like these results, As i have the same turbo, but now im going 1.5j so i think my little t4 .68 rear is gonna be abit small.

Im wondering if the manifold design is helping spool up time.. Its a t3 .84 rear housing.

Heres the dyno sheet.

Not the flattest curve but i was told it was the delay time from the safc giving the dips. It was on dyno for less than an hour so cant complain too much.

Delete the safc and get a piggy back ecu and tune it properly :-) looks like it dips every time the safc is doing something , so the ecu might be pulling timing and fuel , . it should be a nice clean line .

What were the afr ?

Otherwise it's looking great dude :-) definitely sounds the goods .

Curious on the 58 too

Just trying to decide on two of my choices for ecu on this setup. . One is a toms ecu for under a grand plus the safc to tune with. Or a haltech 2000 for $1600 plus installation and cost of wideband sensors ect. Amazing features on the halteh, anti lag would be handy :-) Still has factory ecu, safc , still has speed cut and a manual fuel cut defender. What size injectors could the toms ecu handle? Aim is 450 rwhp.

For that kind of power level and emanage ultimate with standard ecu will do nicely . Can pick one up for around 500 these days.

I would not touch the Toms ecu . They can run 440's but no bigger . Go an ultimate and run some 650cc injectors . Sell the safc and fcd , should get $200 for them no worries .

An safc is not a tuning tool . It's a cheap way to run more boost . And even then I've seen cars make better power without them . As they can be aggressive with timing . The more fuel you try and trim , the more timing your adding . Not what you need for boost .

If you can afford the haltech , it will require full tuning which won't be cheap .

Ok so i have just purchased a e-manage ultimate with t13 harness, sard 800cc injectors, walbro 400lh pump and greddy 3 bar map sensor. a new o2 sensor also.I have rung a few workshops and they are saying the emanage is useless for a big single, or convert it to manual.. Am i missing something here? I am also about to build box up stronger. Has anyone had this set up before? Starting to wonder if i went the right path? Aim is still 450 rwhp

Emanage isn't useless. Trying to find a tuner can just prove difficult

I dont know about a tuner in qld. but Email Cihan aday, tell him your setup, he can email you a tune, then you can try it , datalog it, and send back results, then he can adjust map and send it back to you.

Wow. Would that be like tuning a car without even seeing it? I know Cihan is a great tuner, but it wouldn't be as good as a dyno tune would it?

Not at first. but thats why you data log your results, and send them back. If you cant find a tuner to do it on the dyno, would it really worry you? Least it would get you a fairly good tune, and im sure cihan would keep adjusting from datalogging as needed.
