Hey guys, I was told when I bought my soarer that my turbos had been rebuilt. What am I supposed to be looking for? Would they generally be steel wheeled if rebuilt? Anyone got any photos of before and after of their own turbos rebuilt? Also if they were done would my dumps be any easier to remove? Any info is muchly appreciated. Cheers jamie

No the dumps are still a pita to remove . They might be steel wheeled , maybe not . Might be high flow , maybe not .
Who did the rebuild ? If there are custom oil water lines , could have different centres . Lotsa ??? But only removal and inspection can answer them all

Me and enzo spent awhile trying to figure out if the turbos i sold him were actually steel wheeled or not. Ended up looking at the end of the shaft on the turbine side, and comparing to an original set , there was a slight difference in the centre of the nut on the shaft. But i doubt you will be able to tell unless you pull them off the car

Thanks for all the info guys. Unfortunately the person that owned the car before me passed away and I bought the car from his estate, so I never got to ask him where and when they got rebuilt but his brother in law was adimant that they were. Guess I'll just have to presume they were rebuilt and hope for the best with upping the boost in the future.
