Hi All,

I started noticing that the temperature gauge on the dash would remain just shy of the midway mark for sometime - even on hot days. However it does sometimes go to the midway mark but this could take a while, close to an hour of driving.

Previously it would also go to the midway mark in a pretty short time, say 10 minutes of driving.

Before I go off and purchase another thermostat, is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks,
Tony

Have you checked you water levels both in the filler bottle but also your cooling system??
Have you checked your radiator for any visible obstructions (plastic bags/grass seeds/ grasshoppers or bugs) or have you put an intercooler in front of the radiator for example. Any split or perished hoses etc...look for the obvious things first Tony.

Thanks for the quick response guys.

I don't have an intercooler but did check for the obvious items like coolant level (although not in the filler bottle).

Will double check and see if there is anything I missed.

I have had the experience of changing things (like a completely rebuilt steel turbo) when it didn't need replacing so am being a tad more cautious nowadays.
