Hi,

i am having an issue the the car similar to another post on here, the car starts fine when cold but after being driven and turned off when i go to start it doesn't want to start up and when it does the revs just drop and it stops.

then i start it again and rev it straight away then it drives normal again.

It is getting annoying now anyone know what it could be? i thought maybe the fuel pump, but not sure. Anyone else have or had the same issue or what i can do to try and fix it.

Also what is the fuel pump bypass i seen someone say in another thread.

Thanks.

I have a video of it stalling, i took the car for a drive then turned it off waited 10 minutes then tried to start it again.

After it stalled i started it again and gave it a small rev, worked fine then. This problem only occurs on warm starts when its running it drives fine.

I had a similar problem with my 1JzGTE. When it is warmed it goes out of closed look mode (equivalent to a choke) Look for anything that inputs into the running in open loop mode ie MAP sensor etc.

go to the diagnostic port and put a paper clip between FP (fuel pump) and B+ (12v)

make sure you get it pushed right in to make contact

your symptoms are typical stuffed fuel pump ECU.

You can drive it with the paper clip in.

can the map sensor is the 3 pin mounted to the wall? would disconnecting it and wiping it clean help?,

how do ill have to find out how to do a diagnostics check, where is the diagnostics port

i also remember that the radiator cap is not holding pressure properly would that be adding to the problem?

i found this hose is it supposed to be connected to somthing, it sits behind the airbox and joins up to other hoses.

ok i did the the paperclip thing, just let it idle in the drive way turned off waited then turned on and worked fine... so the fuel pump ecu is the problem?

guess ill start looking for a new/second hand one.

leave the paper clip and drive the car for a few days to confirm that is the problem.

I would buy a new one

i ran with my FP bridged out for over 2 years with no issues. the only downside is the fuel pump is pumping as soon as you turn the key on, even if the engine is not running so if you were to crash you car and split the fuel line, potentially you car would pump your tank dry all over the ground if you didnt turn the key off.
