So my Soarer is once again giving me a headache. Went for a drive this morning, had no problem. Went to the supermarket, was in there maybe half an hour, came back out to leave. Car started fine, and drove through the carpark, but when I put my foot down a little bit, it cut out, and jerked three or four times, then caught and drove away. It happened at around 20kmph. If I take off and only gently accelerate, it doesn't happen, but if I put my foot down past a certain point, it will do the same thing. It basically loses power for a second, then kicks back in, then drops out etc. Happens about 5-6 times before it works fine again. Haven't been able to find anything in my searches, so made a new thread. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction!

Well logic would suggest it is either fuel OR ignition. Unlikely to be the fuel system itself. So need to think about things like the ECUs that control fuel and ignition, AND the sensors that send those computers information. Two first suspects are the Fuel pump controller OR a faulty TPS.(throttle position sensor). A faulty map sensor could cause this, but they are pretty simple things and seldom cause an issue.

Dash doesn't turn off, and the stereo still works too when the power cuts out. No warning lights came up on the dash either.
One of the battery terminals had lots of corrosion on it, so I cleaned that, but haven't had a chance to do anything else yet. Hopefully will have a chance later tonight after work.

It has around half a tank of fuel. Am getting it into the mechanic tomorrow as I have no time to look at it with work and need it to go on holiday next week.

Turns out it was the TPS. So just need to replace that and should be OK. Anyone know where I can get one? It's for a 92 TT if they're different for each model.
