has any one here done a std diagnostic on a 1jzgte using port,TE1 and E1.. and actually seen ECT OK/NG on dash ?
with the tt are you ment to get ECT OK/NG after EFI NG/OK.
i have tried two ecu's now trying to get ECT to come up and cant .is the ECT function only for V8 models.
if the tt's have an electronically controlled transmission (ECT) why is there a kick down cable to the auto

did you have the trans in neutral? Also I think you need to have the O/D button either on or off, i can't recall which.

hi yes i did have it in neutral and tried it with od on and od off but it said in the diagnostics page to have od on still cant get past efi ok hit scroll and nothing

i have done a cruse control diagnostic as well (it came up no errors)
but i think the cruse control is not working because of this ECT thing have you blake seen ECT NG/OK on a tt dash your self ??
i have also tried two different ECU's as well

what would cause me not being able to get to ECT OK/NG what is the part number for the tt auto box should it be Toyota A341E or Toyota A341E (30-41LE)

yeah i've seen it.Always said ECT OK.(pretty sure at least). Has been a few years though since i had a standard ECU (power FC now) .
PM evan Kaio on this forum.He's pretty smart and I think his car will run the Diagnostics still.

Does your O/D light flash when you run diagnostics? mine used to.
The kick down cable on a 1jzgte increases the line pressure when you floor it, protecting the trans under hard acceleration. The 2jzgte trans does this electrically.
The 1jz trans is still electronically controlled trans(gear shifts) despite having a kickdown cable(or line pressure cable might be a better term in this case).

i don't know i have to pull the dash out to replace the bulb not looking forward to it been putting it off. mine has a scroll dash and i thought all the info comes up in the middle where the clock is that's where EFI OK/NG comes up

i think this all has something to do with the cruse not working as well.
i have done a diagnostic on that as well and AD comes up ok. but not working

the main problem is cruse control not working although when useing the (AD)diagnostic comes up Auto drive (AD OK)(on scroll dash)so i wanted to check speed sensors in gear box by doing a,TE1 and E1 diagnostic on the auto .thats how i came to doing a TE1 and E1 diagnostic on the EFI/ECT but when doing diagnostic aisan writing i hit scroll it goes to EFI OK hit scroll once more and should come up with ECT OK/NG (o scroll dash) but only stays on EFI OK cant get it to go to ECT NG/OK or do a diagnostic on the ECT at all. so i cant find out if it is the ECT speed sensor is causing the (AD) cruse control not to work
and this is all done with auto in neutral and OD on (have tried OD off as well

Hit the scroll button again and up will come "ECT", the same again "NG" = not good, "OK"= fine.]
