Alright, quick bit of back story. I replaced the turbos on my auto TT with used stock turbos two years ago. At the same time I installed a high flow HKS air filter, and custom 3" Dump pipe, chopped out the cat and resonators. The shop also did not weld the air sensor onto a bung where the cat was. (wont be going back there again...) The oxygen sensor is just hung up on top of the exhaust as of right now, I will be getting it fixed.
Ever since I have put it back on the road I have been experiencing "burping". When I floor it there's lots of power and good pull up until 5500 RPM and the car starts jumping from 5500 RPM to 5700 and back. I can feel it shuttering as it's doing this (does not happen all the time, but more and more often). Also while I'm going down the highway it's running at 2200 RPM and while giving it constant throttle (not accelerating) the RPM's burp from 2200 - 2500 RPM.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

sounds like when i put a pod filter on my carbed bike, wasn't getting enough fuel and just kept jumping around the rpms when i hit around 6k rpm..learnt about carbys that day!

could be the sensor needing to know how much flow or air there is? i don't know too much but it just sounds familiar.

As far as I know the injectors are original stock injectors as well as the spark plugs. I have 178k on it so the spark plugs are getting changed and I plan on putting on 440cc injectors. Also I was looking under the hood (sorry I'll try to remember to call it a bonnet) and only saw an OBD diagnostic port. Is the 92 TT not OBD2?
Any other ideas of what could be wrong? When I was ripping it around yesterday it seemed to drive fine until I gave it heavy throttle, it would then around 6000RPM jump and suddenly loose all boost, then kick back in, then stop again. Boost cut maybe?

Probably boost cut by the sounds of it, I know when I hit mine it would jump all over the shot as soon as i hit it, kinda sounded like turning a vacuum cleaner on and off! Get an emanage ultimate and remove boost cut or a blitz access ecu if you can find one. Having previously had both a mines ecu and blitz access ecu (I know extremely lucky to have found both) A well tuned emanage ultimate will not only fetch you more power but better tuning response since it's customized for your vehicle. I got that done to my previous soarer and never looked back!

I was looking at getting that emanate ultimate. How easy is it to tune it with an automatic transmission? I'll look more in other threads but is it something I can configure myself or am i looking at dyno time? It's extremely expensive here in Canada to get on a dyno.

Honestly mate if you check out the web or ask someone such as Cihan on etuner he may be able to help you out with a base map for your emu. Thing is you pay between 500-800 AUD to get it tuned down here and I'm sure that wouldn't be much more. With someone that knows those cars especially and tunes them so you can get their full potential! Its worth it trust me.

Tuning is best done by somebody on a Dyno and you need to find a Tuner who is experienced with
E-manage, as not many are.

If you cant find a Tuner that does E-manage, put a new Haltech in or something else.
