Hey Ross,
I haven't heard about the differences either & I'm guessing you are talking after market water pumps ?? Personally I would only go genuine for a water pump etc as some after market ones don't even come with the back section let alone any other issues ??
Regards ..

Thanks for the input guys. I've run aftermarket ones for the past 10years and never had issues. I religiously change water pumps every 100k so on my wife's car I've done it twice and used them on other soarers ive had (always 1991 model) and i can't fault them.
The reason I ask is last time I was making a purchase they asked me whether I need 10 or 11 bolt and now notice eBay listings and websites also make mention of it. I wasn't sure if maybe in 1994 or 1997 they went to 11 bolt.

You would think if there was a change it would be with the VVTI version, but only guessing there ..
Was the 10 bolt & 11 bolt they mentioned both Non hydro set up ..
That's the beauty of genuine, give them the chassis # etc & you get the correct part, have you ever priced a genuine one of late as sometimes Toyota can be reasonably competitive on their prices on service items ..
