My JZZ31 just failed its WOF due to cracked serpentine belt (was going to wait for 100K to change, but have to do it now just a few thou short)
Anything I need to look for in particular when doing this, or is it pretty standard? (I know to draw a picture before getting started) I havent tried to identify the tensioner pully yet - is it pretty obvious? Any help appreciated - dont want to start and then find out later there was some trick to it that would have made it much easier...

There is an article about changing the V8 belt, not sure if it is much help to you though.

Yeah, done a UZZ30 before - it was pretty easy so not anticipating any problems with this one, just wondered if anyone new of any pitfalls to be aware of.

All done - no problems, did it at lunch time - much like the UZZ30 only the cooling fan gets in the way a bit more. Car is legal again =)

Good news Matthew , tho I'm curious why the Testing Station knocked ya back on a drive-belt??,
As in: I wasn't aware that it's a WOF requirement

Don, apparently because the belt drives the power steering pump, its considered part of the steering system. I thought about pointing out that even without power stearing I would'nt have any problems manuvering the car, but decided against it.

Have you tried steering it without the power steering working?

Yup, had to steer my UZZ30 when the belt broke. No problems, but then I have quite large arms
