Hey all, I am a new owner of a 91 TT soarer, It has High-Flow cat full 3inch exhaust and twin cannons, But in need of a Dump Pipes. Spoke to John up at UAS and he showed me the ones they fit for 1JZ motors and recomends them so will prob give it a go. I will hopefully do a before and after DYno run, and will post pics and readouts from when i do.
But if anyone else can recommend someone in Sydney who makes a Dump Pipe that is well known and works and can fit it, Please let me know as im also keen on using something that is tried and tested..... cheers

Can anyone recomend anyone in Sydney who supplies and fits Dump pipes for a 91 TT? Also need to know the price as i have a budget ( so far have been quoted between $800 - $1000 supply and fit.
Also... Do the turbos have to be removed for fitment?

Daniel; Mate yes the front turbo has to come off to remove the cast exhaust section in between the turbos. dumps generally take 8 hrs to fit them up so long as the fitter doesn't have any dramas with bolts etc. my dumps are $750 plus shipping of $30 then you have to fit them fitting mine is easy once you have the front turbo off. as thay are in two pieces a lot of other dumps are just one piece and can cause a little head ache when fitting them. if the dumps are the stainless ones that are being sold on ebay right now DO NOT BUY THEM thay are suited to chaser and JZA70 supra and WILL NOT fit soarers. i have had a set here and there isn't a hope in hell of fitting them unless you cut them up and re-do all the pipe work. i have sent the set back to were thay come from all modified so the person that made them can set his jig up properly and thay will fit all 1jz motors i should have a set back again in 4 weeks possible 5 if customs get there act together. cheers Lew

do these dump pipes look pretty good?
They are dead sexy!
However, if you still have the heat shielding around your turbos, you wont be able to see much of the dump pipes from the engine bay, get your car on a hoist and you'll be able to see all the good work that goes into em.

Mike for stainless dumps. thay look good and welded nicely but the wall thickness is to thin i recon thay will last about 12 months if ya lucky but at that price you could keep on replacing them every 12 months i suppose

Thanks guys
I just had a look at them and they certainly do look nice (to my uneducated eye) but given the labour costs of replacing them every year it'd get expensive pretty quickly.
Out of curiosity, how thick is the wall of the ebay ones and how thick should it be to avoid cracking?

around 2.5mm wall thickness Mike hang fire for a little bit mate i have got a set comming in from the same place. i bought a set of the ebay ones to check them out. (straight from OS) not off ebay. thay didn't fit the soarer so i modified them and sent them back again. the manufacturer is now changing his jig to suit so from now on thay will fit the soarer supra and chaser. also i have asked him to make them out of thicker stainless this had added some more cost to the dumps so when the set comes back again (4-5 weeks) get incontact with me then and i will be able to tell you how much thay will be. if the quality is still there i will be importing these in to Australia. also my own style dumps will be going over there to see what thay do with them (could be good and could be really bad as well) but we will not know until the first set comes back cheers Lew

Lew, with your dump pipes is there are changes that need to be made to the exhaust or are they a "bolt in" item (for want of a better word considering you have to take off the turbos!).

just a question, I don't know if it is possible but could you make a set of custom dumps, one off each turbo to its own cat, muffler etc? Would there be any benefits of this setup? And what do you think it would do to the sound of the exhaust?

If you are not looking for huge power you can leave the cast irn T in place, and bolt a single dump to that, much cheaper and good power can be gained. I'm running about 200rwkw @12psi with that setup. I'll be selling it later i year, but too late for you i imagine. I think there has been dumps for sale 2nd hand for reasonable price on this forum recently. Do a search.
