Hey guys, it is time to change my brake pads, never done this before. Was just thinking Bendix pads as someone had recomended to me. Can I just go to any old Auto Shop and buy pads or do they have to be ordered in or something? Also any idea of the part number I guess? just for a Jzz30 soarer pov spec isn't anything special

Some shops will have them, others wont. ring around. [try repco frirst]
Part numers are listed on the forum, search for brake pad part.
i had no issues with Bendix pads but others have not had good reports with them. I would just use Toyota ones if you can get them! depends on how hard you drive the car.
Oh and if you have never changed the pads before, is someone showing you how to do it? woudnt want to stuff it up!

I wouldnt get Bendix, there pretty crap.
I have Bendix on my fronts and all though they have lasted me a fair while, they dont stop as good as Toyota Pads and they left all grooves in my rotors not long after they had been machined. Pretty Dusty aswell.

Yes I had a extreme set of TRD pads. They are a metal pad, and chewed out my standard disks. Great once they were hot, but not to good if you needed to step on them when they were cold.

Bendix pads are terrible, they do work better than the toyota pads but that depends which bendix pad you get.
They damage the disks, wear fast and have lots of dust, the new advanced bendix pads are better but still not as good as others.
I recently put in ferodor excells and they are an in between pad, still work once they are hot and work ok when cold. They have a large metal backing plate to keep the heat in so once they are up to temperature they stay there for a long time.
I have found they need about one hard stop of a couple of light stops and the are awesome.
I'm not sure how bad the disk wear will be or how long they will last but so far at about 3000km I am happy
