Well, Last night i recieved my FMIC kit and plan on installing it over easter :-)

My only drama is the next modification i can make as i have to make a choice, DOH!

Shift kit the Auto? or Get something like a SAFC fitted and Dynoed? I know The SAFC will give me more power and better AFR's, and more
HP@WHeels.
But will i see much of a difference over the 1/4 mile with a Shift kit as opposed to a good tune?

Sometime in the future, i will be doing some other mods, but at the moment im at the fork in the road, and not sure which one will benefit me much.

I know after i get the FMIC in the car, it would be ideal to DYNO and get the EBC adjusted accordingly, and I will be doing so regardless of next Modification choice.

But which one will i benefit more from? Personally im going with the SAFC Tune and dyno over the Shift kit in box. But any Input would be great.

Cheers Guys.
p.s. My car is going in on the 24th april to get that slight rear damage repaired from Mr Nasty Truck-Dude! Pics to come after i get her all looking Schmick again :-)

I'd be going with a decent set of dump pipes i'f you don't have them already. You'll get a bit more power, and you'l be able to utilise your exhaust to the fullest when you eventually get the safc and get it dynoed.

id look at doing the shift kit first. you wont gain as much performance as with the s-afc but it will be a stronger box for when you do up the power. in stead of upping the power then worrying about a strong enough driveline.

Good reading guys. Im quite curious too as I am pondering over my next modification...

Daniel mate, I am in the same boat as you and would be very interested in the results you get in regards to your 1/4 mile time and dyno results.

Well, I now know how to adjust my EBC... Piece of cake! Its a Greddy Pro Fec B SPec II.... at the moment i changed it from 10.5 psi up to 12.2.

Will probably have to adjust it after i fit the cooler, but at least i can do that no probs now.

I vote shift kit first. But twin dumps if you haven't done that already :-)

Only thing im worried about fitting dumps at the moment, is Boost hitting the Fuel Cut! It has 3inch High flow cat and full exhaust, Will have a new FMIC and has a BFI already.

If i fit the dumps and manage to hit the boost cut, i wont have enough $$$ left to get an Safc to fix that problem...

I hate these crossroads!

Im not worried about speed cut. Where on sydney roads can you do over 180 anyways, lol. And as for 1/4 mile stuff.. Im thinking the most its gonna run would be around 102-108 mph anyways at a guess!

If you can get past 105mph on the 1/4 you have a fast car!

Stock usually range anywhere between
94@102mph. To get above that you need more power. Some guys have gone 111mph on stock turbos also.

Cut off is at just under 112mph. I guess by the time you add in speedo inaccuracy it probably would pay to get rid of the 180kph limit if you had even mild mods

haha, I only put in 102mph because of your car. I actually think that 100mph max is closer to normal for these cars.

I have done 13.70's @ 105mph a couple of times. However i average more around the 103-104mph. A chunk of mods to my car..

Callum: judging by your mods, MPH and ET. I think you would actually go close to 12’s if you got the shift kit and a 3000rpm stall. 105mph should net you low 13’s with a good launch. What was your 60 foot on the 13.70? I am guessing around 2.25 or so.

Your car's MPH is all over the place Callum.

Hey maybe I will go as quick as you with the shift kit that I ordered for ME and not for YOU cause I am sabotaging your drag racing efforts.
