hey guys, cause i had no licence last winter, and it was the first winter since having the steelwheeled turbo's put in, the car never really got raced at all. I noticed tonite however that it is starting to creep boost, and then as i hit 3rd gear it hits 14psi and suddenly stops and the engine light comes on. I am fairly sure this is boost cut. Has anyone else has this happen? I normally run 10.5 psi roughly and holds it solidly in the daytime, but since it started getting colder it's creeping, i have no boost controler, any idea's?

yeah it holds 10.5 cause I tried a electric apexi one from a mate of mine a few weeks back to make sure and it said 0.75 bar and held steady. i'm fairly sure that's around 10.5-11psi which is what my autometer one says. i'll try it again tomorrow day but i bet it'll hold around 11 which is what it normally does. Just at night when it's cold it creeps really bad at the end of 2nd gear and when u hit third it gets to around 14psi and thats when all the fun ends.

hmmmm what sorta turbo u running on it? it could just be the efficiency of the turbos wanting to get higher power and the boost cut is tryin to come on.? if u can get hands on a boost controler try and borrow it of a mate one night and try to keep the boost on 11psi

Sounds like boost cut to me ;)

When the air is cooler you can get more of it through (higher pressure).

Boost cut is at 1.0bar (Whatever psi that is, ~15psi i think).

Thats what that light along with the shudder is =P

Colder weather means more oxygen in, which means more gas out which means more spiking.

Brenden, good turbos hey! lots of topend. They come with good actuators that hold boost right through the rev range.

Your hitting boost cut for sure. Its set at 1 bar which is 14.7psi or 14.5 psi depending on what text book you look at.

Get a boost cut defender or a Supra MAP sensor along with a tune. Should be tops.
