Was after someone in Sydney preferable around lanecove who can come over and visit me with their igniter module.
Basically I've just installed 6 coilpacks with brand spanking new connectors and it seems the igniter doesn't want to fire cylinder 5 which was the cylinder that had the coilpack with the massive crack and melted plastic on it. I just want to test with a known working igniter to see if it is the igniter before spending dollars on a new unit.
I'm thinking that coilpack 5 blow up and somehow produced enough feedback to blow the igniter module for coil 5. Can provide beer to lucky person

Hey Ben, I get my car back hopefully today but got something on tonight. Should be free Wednesday night though. Will get back to you tonight. If i have nothing happening wednesday night, I can come for a drive round mate.
You would have to remove and refit my igniter as i dont have a spare.

Well Looks like im not getting it back until thursday now Sorry to be a pain mate. Are you free friday afternoon at all? Im sure we can work something out.
Just want to thank Daniel for coming over this morning and helping me out with the above problem. If you ever need a hand fixing your car, give me a yell. After changing the ignitor and the battery it started and runs great, no longer sounds like a wrx
For future reference the part no. on both my ignitor and Daniel's is 89621-22030. According to toyota this is an ignitor from a 93-96 jzz30 soarer. There is a 89621-22020 which is for 91-93, but it was superceeded by the 22030 model. So this means at some point in the life of both our 91 soarers, the ignitors have been replaced.
Oh and the price is $576.60 from Penrith toyota and its 3 weeks ex japan. Currently getting a price from elmhurst toyota, hopefully its cheaper and faster shipping.
So in conclusion, coilpacks blowing up can feedback to your ignitor and blow it up as well, making it a rather expensive smoke filling exercise.

Benjamin,
I'll check with Tasman Toyota here in NZ on Monday, as they may be substantialy cheaper than Oz.
I got one for Mike Triggs car in Norfolk Island a while ago (97 VVTi) and if I remember correctly, it was roughly $400(AUD) for an Oz sourced one, and a hundred & something dollars(NZ) for one sourced from Toyota NZ.

Benjamin, Tasman Toyota or Toyota NZ for that matter, don't carry 89621-22030, BUT when I gave them the old number of 89621-22020, they said that now supercedes to 89620-24080 which they normally carry in NZ, but have no stock of at present. Cost incidentaly was $600 inl.GST.
So it might be worth checking out 89620-24080, as Tasman Toyota assure me it's a valid supercession from 89621-22020
Yeah penrith toyota gave me that number as well, when I called them initial asking for 1jz ignitor for a soarer. However i was hoping that there'd be atleast one of the ignitors in stock of any part number, but alas its not.
I did however get lucky on saturday night when a guy emailed me saying he had 2 lying around. So I drove to his place on sunday and picked up one 89621-22020 ignitor for 100 bucks. Plugged it up later that day and it worked
