Hi guys,
Looking at the Stocko BOV, I'm confused as to what some people say to do.
To turn it into a atmo venting BOV, people say to pull off the rubber pipe and plug it, but the rubber pipe is attached post turbo (where aftermarket BOV's are placed) and the BOV itself is attached to the piping preturbo. So by blocking the rubber pipe you are effectively cutting out the BOV altogether, and fcuking your car in the process.
Am i right, or if im wrong, can someone explain it to me please?

Thats what I thought, but some people think you can?
I do want a bit of BOV noise so Im goin something aftermarket. I drive this car for the thrill of driving and these little things all add to it, wank factor or not(No I dont want something that sounds like a blew a tyre every time).

im not to sure.. im not sure if its true. but how i see it from what i've been told that..
the turbo spins one way and the blow off valve is there to release or reroute the pressure and that if you block it off its makes it spin backwards hence damaging the fins.. correct me if im wrong but thats what i "think"

cut out the front of your airbox, up the boost (within your cars current limits of course, dont just ramp it up to 20 p.s.i) and you will get a lovely turbo spooling noise and an ampliied sneeze.

Nah, it doesn't spin backwards. The compressor wheel loses grip on the air it's trying to push in which is called 'surge'. Can create heat due to the inefficiency of spinning so fast and producing no flow. Not good for turbos. There is NO advantage in a BOV to atmosphere, purely a personal taste thing.
