Yes my top tank finally cracked last night as I pulled into my garage. Now does anybody know the rough price for a new one from Mr T? Also would I be able to replace it myself or does it need to be taken to a pro?

$380 is abit much.
I paid $250 and they (Radiator Shop in Sydney) removed it and fitted it. And tested it to make sure it wasnt leaking etc. They put new coolant in, But it wasnt Toyota coolant. I got it drained later on and put Toyota Fluid in.

You can't replace the top tank yourself, you need to get a radiator shop to weld it on for you, then they'll pressure test it to make sure there are no leaks.
Mine went about 2 1/2 years ago. Removed the radiator myself (only 1/2 hour job) and just took the core to the radiator place. Only cost me $154 too!!!

BTW Toyota won't sell you the top tank, only the whole radiator (BIG $$$) bit like they will only sell you the complete control arm, not just the bushes.

Selly's epoxy putty (waterproof version....$14.95 a tube) has been stopping mine from leaking for a while now. (new motor coming...I am NOT doing a radiator BEFORE it goes in!!!).

I got mine done for only $250 and that included 'good' coolant and testing etc and that was in Tassie where everything is more expensive than the mainland!

OK, that's my bad! Was just going on what my radiator dude told me. He ordered an aftermarket one from one of his suppliers for about $89, add to that the $65 for labour and that brings the total to the prior mentioned sweet as price of $154, nice and cheap, about the only thing on my car that has been!!!
I got it fixed at Red Devil Radiators for $170. Took it out and took it to them. It included the top tank replaced, pressure tested and cleaned and they even resprayed it black. Bargain!
