Hi guys,
Bear with me please, I'm new to the turbo game and am still very green.
Just sorting out what is right and wrong with me car, there are a few things that confuse me a little.

Here it looks like the previous owner has 2 boost controllers setup...

Is this necessary, cant the 2 pipes be joined and run thru the same b-controller? If this could be explained it would help greatly.

Also, here is where the boost controller was hooked up i believe, but it has come off or was disconnected or something, just want to check before i go hooking stuff up.

It should be joined and run to this as well? And is this clear piping apropriate as a boost line?

Sorry about the blurry pics, lighting was a little poor.

Cheers, Dave.

not too sure on the boost controllers but where the clear tubing is connected, thats for your power steering and yes it meant to be connected to to where you indicated in the second last pic.

1st pic is of Turbo boost control

2nd pic is clamping the MAP Sensor !! WHY..I do not know.

3rd pic I think that is where the power steer idle up hose goes

4th pic cant quite make out

Maybe it bleeds the PSI to the map sensor as a from of Boost Cut? SO instead of clamping the voltage from the Map sensor to the ECU, this is just restricting the amount of Manifold pressure showing towards thre Map Sensor.

Just a guess,hehe.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Yes Tim that artwork took hours

So I think thats one query answered. If I hook up the line from the power steering to the intake manifold it should be fine, and I can then hook a line off that to my boost gauge?

Also, in pic 2, that turbosmart thingamibob teed into the line running from the map sensor, so it would be the FCD?

Finally, the little blue thing in pic #1 is the boost controller.

OK, I think i have a better idea of how this runs now, Thanks all!

1) Boost Controller (bleeder valve type?)

2) looks like another bleeder valve hooked up the line to the map sensor which would effectively trick it into thinking it was running at lower boost than it is and prevent fuel cut till higher boost than normal (past safe levels on stock turbos)

3) ... (other people on here would be better advising you of this than my best guess as its not in my area of knowledge)

re: pic 2

I would disconnect that bleeder thing on the MAP sensor as that is the most dodgy way ever to remove fuel cut. The ecu uses the map sensor to determine how much boost it is running. Yes the 1jz runs rich so making it think it is running less boost than it really is will lean it out but how much you would have no idea.

I would run the map sensor line directly to the inlet manifold.

Then sell that thing to someone who owns a nissan

FCDs are cheap and better than that way of trimming the MAP sensor, Digital Fuel Adjuster is even better.
Any of the electronic boost controllers will be better than the bleed type. They can actually help boost come on sooner too.

WOW !! what an artwork of piping and bleeding...

Yeh that MAP sensor bleed valve is REALLY dodgy ! hahah i would remove it sooner rather that later and just lower your boost till you get a FCD (easy to make also, ask Tai)

Its pretty hard to tell whats goin on in the pics but most the lads have nailed it already.

If you didnt live 1100KM away we could have a look at it when we go cruisen this weekend in SE-QLD
