oh yeah, those items are just the beginning. I just cant wait for the bills for all the re wiring, dyno tuning, gaskets, taking off the manifold to fit that bloody maf sensor, oh, all the fitting and refitting, injectors, grommets ARRRRRGGGHHH!

Still, its worth it!

i dunno about the 3540r being that laggy, been for a ride in a R33, it seemed quite fine really. I think with an 1.02 ex it might be a little bit noticeable.

GT3040R is fine on the 1jz - at least, it is on mine, with W58 manual and 3.7:1 ratio torsen - hits boost by 3700rpm...if you wait about a month, Paul Brockbank off here (another WA boy) will be running a GT3540 on his, be it auto. Again, not expected to be overly laggy at all.

The only thing good in that kit is the manifold and the lines arent they????

That is a crap turbo (isnt it the chinese one???) Does it come it the waste gate and BOV???

It is confusing trying to figure it all out.

But it would be a good package apart from the turbo. I would buy it and whack on a australian turbo (as in a retail one) like a garrett gt2835r or something along those lines that will bolt up.

I'd look into that GT30R and manifold in the for sale section. If I didn't buy those 2 steel wheel turbos off ebay on the weekend I would have bought that on the spot.

9th of October it's booked in for.

Setup will be:
GT3582R (0.82 rear housing)
Turbosmart 45mm Progate
China spec Manifold
S-AFC + S-ITC combo (for now)
550cc injectors and Bosch 040 fuel pump.

I'll be happy to post up my comments on it once it's all done.
I'll let you know how laggy it is. I'm expecting it to be pretty violent when it comes on boost. The 35R has a bit of a reputation as being a tyre fryer.

Yes, the supra boys do use them on 2J's, however they usually choose the 35R over the T04z if they wan't response over top end power.

I'm thinking something that is responsive on a 2J should be good for top end power on a 1J.

Having said that, don't go for the 1.02 exhaust housing, as I can't see it being much good to you unless you have cams and a built motor with the ability to rev to 9k.

GT45... righteo. Unless you have a 1.5J with forged EVERYTHING and cams AND want it to be purely a strip car, then don't buy that.

Hey thats awesome Paul, mies an .82 as well! Those 6boost manifolds look awesome Im thinking about one of those. What are you doing for fuel setup? I dont know wether to use an external pump/surge tank setup or to just go a Bosch m'sport intank. Anyone know if the tanks are well baffled?

Aaron, I'm using a Bosch 040 in-tank pump and it's dead silent, combined with 550cc injectors and close to std rail pressure I'm hoping it will support close to 400rwhp (300rwkw).

At what boost though?

I don't plan to be running 24psi+ to make over 380rwhp.

i made 380 rwhp at 20 psi and thats when we reached the life of the injectors

at 17 psi it made 300 rwhp on pump.

dont know what duty the 1000cc are at

That must have been a very conservative tune then.
Hard to believe you'd be making less power than my stockers at 15psi, with a t04r running higher boost.

and you have to remember my to4r wasnt in its effiecency range until 22 psi

my T51R would get flogged by a standard turbo car on my street tune and boost of 16 psi. it makes 330 rwhp
