donald
Take it down to Geelong tune up
south Geelong and have a talk to Phil.
head down to the motor reg branch on fyans street
when you get to the end of fyans street hang a right and Geelong tune up is half way down on the left hand side (green building)
thay are right beside south geelong exhaust.
Chris in there knows what he is doing with exhausts if you need one at any time.

Thanks for that. I didn't remember if they only did tune ups or if they are up for full mech work.
The V8 did something yesterday that it has never done before.
The battery went dead after the lights were left on for a week or so. (It was in the garage and couldn't be seen). I put a smart charger on it to bring it back to cranking amps. (Maybe should have taken the battery out of the car).

After that the car was running ragged, but after pulling into Safeway for groceries, the Soarer would start, run ragged, act like it was not getting fuel when putting your foot on the accelerator and die. It would restart, going thru that cycle about 10 times. I let it sit for a minute, restarted and it stayed running and I drove it home with it running pretty sick. Haven't tried it today but thought I would book it in for a diagnostic.

Tried resetting the computer? Has the battery been fully charged back up?

Mark had some good words on a similar thing:

Mark Paddick wrote on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 - 11:25 pm:

this is partly because the Soarer system does make some attempt to charge the battery properly and will only charge it at 1 to 2 amps until the battery terminal voltage is over 13.5volts which can take quite some time to achieve with a large capacity battery that is discharged to any large degree.

Here's the link to the thread, but that's probably the most relevant bit:

Give it a good charge and see how ya go.

Just curious, how did the head lights stay on, I though even the UZZ30s lights turned off when you opened the door?

Actually it was the interior lights that got left on.

Is Phil still known as Geelong Tune Up? I looked thru the Yellow pages and didn't find it.

Has anyone worked with Geelong Tune Up? When I called he seemed a bit abrupt and uninterested. I realize it's possible to have a bad day from time to time. Just don't want to go on first impressions.
