Samuel I have a TT diff on my V8 and it is a bit quicker off the mark.

Me too. I think it's a worthwhile thing to do. I would also argue that a few extra RPM would detract much at all from overall fuel consumption.

Hmmm Im considering a open wheel TT diff to replace my v8 diff..

On sale for $150 in good condition - should I go for it? Is it noticeably worth it?

So obviously your hinting its worth it for the price? I may as well go for it, theres not to much you can do to the v8s at a low cost to give them more of an edge...

I wouldn't mind an LSD but they are at least 3x as expensive.... I just want the better ratio which will suit my start stopping driving more, not too interested in spinning both tyres really.

Still I may just hold off and later get a proper LSD. I think this would be too much hassle for what it is.... If Im going to do something to the diff may as well do it once and do it right with an LSD! :-) However that will be last on the list, Exhaust is next on the list!
