Well, Since I have no idea when the Diff oil was last replace it's something I better add to my service list to get done shortly... (Better to be safe than sorry! :-))

So what oil grade should be used in an Open wheel stock differential? How much oil does this particular diff take? Any particular brands to go for? - Please recommend what you find the most appropriate!

Cheers Guys

I guess I should really do mine too - supposedly it was changed with the last transmission service middle of last year, but going back to the invoice he gave me I can't find any mention of it. I guess at the very least I'll check the level and colour of it.

Factory
Non LSD and Torsen LSD BOTH take a standard type oil with a weight value of between 75W/90
No LSD oils are needed for the Torsen.

As Neil states Torsen mechanical LSD's DON'T use special oil, only "Clutch Pack" type LSD's require a different oil.

Coz they're just a bunch of cogs people!

It will be interesting to see how much if any metal chips are in my Diff oil... Time will tell. :-)

Its probably one of the last things to get done at the moment, Trans flush and Radiator flush are on the cards!
