Hi from Scotland, not posted on here for a while, but thought it made interesting reading, and after posting on UK sites thought I should share it.

Thor racing in the UK just transp;anted the V8 soarer engine into a MK4 supra, and will be doing a manual box for it,

One of the guys over here phoned them to ask some questions and found that they were quite helpful, so any info required for you guys in OZ they may help

Interesting project! I was going to ask "why?" but then read about them wanting to demonstrate their skills.

By different you mean the car rather than the engine or gearbox I take it? 1UZ and R154 are common enough. Fitting them to a Supra and adding turbos are different.

Sorry, but I'd have to say V160 all the way if this is being used for a V8TT MKIV Supra :-) Possibly an Sp400. The car deserves nothing less.

Matt, the W58 is the most commonly used gearbox with the Toyota V8 motors. Do a search for "W58" and see what you can dig up.

Good luck.

The Thor conversion uses the R154 from a Supra MA70 turbo and the 1UZ bellhousing. Here in the UK we don't have access to many 1JZ R154s and we have to buy the 1JZ bellhousing from Mr. T at 350 GBP (about 880 AUD?).

Here's another V8 supra project in the US. 2UZ / V160
