My v8's been squealing not really at idle but when you give it a rev say above or around 3 grand it squeals. I'm guessing it’s the tensioner on the drive belt is faulty. What do you guys think?

We think it squeals.

Given that we aren't close enough to the car to open the bonnet and listen more closely, or to try the various tricks mentioned on the forum to help localise where the noise is coming from, it's not going to be that easy for us to agree or disagree with you.

Which would you like us to do? :-)

Ok

It doesn't start squealing till 3 grand and above. Turning the stearing wheel doen't effect it any way. The drive belt seems loose but it is new. I've had a talk to a local mechanic and his diagnoses was a stuffed tensioner. The sounds coming from the drive belt.

Probably is the belt tensioner. Mine used to make an intermittent noise before it was replaced. All good now.
