Hi Guys!!
I was wondering if anyone could tell me HOW MUCH difference it will be for me to just do a 2 1/4 system WITHOUT Rush extractors as opposed to having them..??
I'm just wondering what the over-all difference will be..?? The sound is not a factor here.. just the over-all performance gains...
ie. Has anyone here dyno'd their Soarer BEFORE the exhaust was done and then AFTER a system with Rush Extractors etc was fitted...???

I did a before and after on exhaust without extractors. Result was +8%. I already had a BFI, without which there is not a lot of point in touching your exhaust. You need to get air in to the engine to make it work. Getting it out is a second-order problem.

I just did a cat back dual system and Ive found the results to be pretty good........
It took about .5 sec off my 100km time and Im now on cheap 215 tyres that are worse than my 205s which I needed for the front as they were low on tread...
Its been like this for over a week and wow, its now changed from a nice but kinda tinny v8 burble to a very, very deep and soothing V8 sound... LOVE IT!
Worn in mufflers are superb! It can only get better too

I haven't done mine yet, but i started a thread ages ago (on the old forum i think) and Pete32 (of planetsoarer fame) said that performance wise you'd be better off doing the headers first, since the stock manifold is a shocker.

I'll be able to answer this question next week Soarer is being dyno'd with a repaired ecu as was faulty, and 2 1/4 cat back which in the past has made 141rwkw but going to re-run anyways and then when the gear box gets dropped to do the rear main Neil's headers are going on and another dyno will be ran
Then MAYBE a piggyback no one up here really does anything other than Haltech might look at that anyways and also there'll be another toy going on next couple of weeks

Ok here is the power figure with repaired ecu. 151rwkw consistant lovely curve. Also take into account it would have been around 36degrees and around 40-60% humidity.
When the car was a little cooler it did go to 160rwkw but yeah not claiming that. 151rwkw is on paper which puts me 211hp WOOT I made the 200 mark all because of a faulty ecu I made another 11kw. Headers should give around 160rwkw and then the nos 230rwkw

I thought the V8's liked to rev more than that?
Nice power curve though mate, looking good. You need some sort of piggyback on it to trim the fuel back up to 12.8-13.2's and you would gain more top end

Phil the graph didn't show mate I'll have a reading this week, headers are in now, need a new system (old one was 2 1/8") but won't match up now due to the length difference.
Taking it into a guy up here and his going to do his work apparently no-one has had any complaints should be 2.5" now instead, I wanna try and keep out the mufflers again if I am able to, his getting my old system so he'll have a rough idea as to what was on the car.
OH I'll try and get a photo of the cats, but one had a hole through it not really a problem and the other one had collapsed and wasn't allowing a clean passage....

Mark i made a separate thread as i had a few questions related to my graph, but yes it will be interesting to see your results as it looks like you have a good 'un
What was your top speed down the 1/4 again? Im running TT ratio diff so im hoping i dont run out of revs before the limiter!

90.18mph That was running the open wheel diff, zip tie on fuel line, blocked fuel filter, full tank of fuel, full boot inc subs and bags etc also no bfi. I think it was making 160rwhp at that point in time.
Now running a TRD LSD, no zip tie, new fuel filter, won't have the same in the boot I'm only 15mins from Hidden Valley not 2hrs from WSID. Apparently there's a UZZ31 in Melbourne running 15.05's and it's STOCK as a rock I was told....

FYI i had a talk to Niall today, a full 2 1/4" exhaust with extractors, cats, resonators, mufflers would come to about $3000 with labour and according to Niall it is almost silent on cruise and really opens up when you lean on it. Described it as the best exhaust you could get.
Also highly reccomends you get engin mounts done at the same time, add on another $600.

mmm well piss the mufflers off prob save around 400 bucks, took 8hrs to put in the headers (Bang smack on Neil's timing) However lots of engine rocking was involved hahaha and well there was no broken mounts I asked about it but yeah if deciding on an exhaust do the whole system.
Braided lines are in now, goes to TPL tomorrow I think for the rear half of the system as the old one won't meet up. Almost there.
