The cannister filters vapours from the fuel system.

Not sure about the hoses, as to whether they get stiff or soft as they age.

Oh pooh! Just hope it isn't a rear engine welsh plug.. :-(

It has happened before, and is one of the reasons why it is VERY important to keep the cooling system maintained and with the correct coolant.

At the very back of the block, remove engine to get at it.

Or remove the body.

Either way, no fun.

But hopefully it won't be that.

jacked up the car today. Above the drivers side cat in the back of the block is some sort of cup like looking plug, looks like a 1cm deep and a few cm wide the water just shoots when i top the radiator so this is a welsh plug?

Got a price yesterday for a whole gasket/seal kit for the engine for bit over $500 from autopro or $76 for just the RHS head gasket gasket, also would need a rocker cover rubber seal and intake and exhaust gaskets which makes me think i would be better off buying the whole kit which is for both sides and includes all the spark plug seals and quite a few other seals but its for a LS400 will it suit the soarer? I think it was a ACL brand

What has to be removed to take the head off and what should be replaced at the same time? Obviously the welsh plugs will be replaced :-)
