Is it possible to turn off the knock sensors. I connected a scan tool today to my Celsior and I think it reads that the knock sensors are off (see photo - bottom reading). Would this be right or not. I also think the tool is a 'scan only' tool as I couldn't alter it.

What are your thoughts please, as my car is pinging its head off. I can not drive the car without pinging, even under the lightest throttle.

I have bought the scan tool home this week-end, so I can re-check anything if you have any thoughts.

Cheers, Kevin

That could be because the sensors aren't detecting any knock. Kick the throttle and see if it changes.

As far as I know, to turn the sensors permanently off, you have to disconnect the wire to the ECU.
