How tight should the serpentine belt tensioner be?
It seems very easy to move by depressing the belt and I think the belt is squealing slightly. The belt is about 30,000k old. Surely it doesn't need replacing already.

Ahhh yes the belt might be only 30,000 K's old , but how old is the tensioner ?

Tight - you should have to use a fair bit of pressure on a breaker bar to move the tensioner.

OK, thanks guys, looks like the tensioner is stuffed. Where does one get one of these in a hurry?

Get one from Toyota and it will cost $610.00. Simply get a serpentine belt and it will cost $48.00. Job done and fixed.
By the way, is the right one a 2270 or a 2275?
I reckon I could get a 2270 on and the stretch indicator still wouldn't be beyond the marks.

They are way more organised over there , like WAYYYYYY more organised , I put it down to the share volume they do , is the Soarer V8 tensioner the same as the Celsior/LS tensioner ?
As an example I get timing belt tensioners for about Aus $80.00 .
