Hi Guys,
2 days before I'm to head back to Adelaide for 10 days the Soarer has •••• it self. While driving there was a sudden loss of power strong smell of fuel and the damn thing sounds like a WRX with a fkd exhaust.

I Unplugged the LHS coil pack the car refuses to start. Plug it back in the car starts and runs mega rough. Uncover and unplug the top RHS coil pack and the car starts. While the car is running unplugging and plugging in the coil pack results in no change of how the engine runs and i wasn't zapped.

Does this sound like the top coil pack is dead , and if so where can i get one in the next two days , Im in North Melbourne, the closer the better as i only have one car.

Excellent I guess , Is there an after market option and where can i buy from. I really need to have my car running buy 10 am Saturday latest.

Yep, when mine went, just popped into Repco, cost about $60 from memory.

Adam, Crap !!!! really that's great to hear Im breathing so much easier now :-)

Any chance of a part number and brand.

Also if my igniter is dead. Are these readily available.

From what i can deduce Burnson's in West Melbourne are the closest to me (1.2) km so off walkies I go tomorrow morning.

My soarer did this. Knew straight away what the problem was...

But what causes the units to fail? Heat and time?

Rang Repco - didn't have it in stock - made an order picking it up this afternoon.

Just an update, turned out to be the coil pack (thank Christ).

Repco was great 85 bucks. For anyone that wants to know it was a Champion CC231, fitted perfectly and my car runs damn better.
