As my AFM has been suspicious... I contacted Castle Hill Toyota today and got price of AFM unit (to be imported from Japan ) for $1122.00 AUD

Is that correct ?

sounds like price for whole intake assembly...

Nah, that will be the AFM only.
Anything electronic is not cheap.

Just get a 2nd hand one.

I've heard rumours than the 7MGTE black box is the same as the 1UZ one. Just unbolt it from the 7M AFM and bolt it into your 1UZ AFM.

You should be able to get a 7M one for about $20

2nd hand 1UZ ones go for over $150 usually.

7MGTE is the 3.0L turbo 6 in the previous model Supra and Soarer. (MZ20 and MA70)

The best place to get one is from Japan , find some one who has an account for Yahoo Japan , I have a mate who gets anything I want from there , got a nice set of wheels coming that will cost more to get here than I paid for them .
I think you can pick up an AFM for $50.00 or less .
Most people forget that there are really no UCF11's on the road in Japan so the parts are cheap as nobody over there has a need for them .
