SEASONS GREETINGS ALL!!
Found something disturbing under the hood while showing off the v8 yesterday.
Had a search, haven't found what i'm after.
If anyone could advise I would appreciate it.
Theres a sensor in the header tank?? and the cover seems to have come loose.
It has some red sticky residue holding it in place.
I cant secure it.
The wiring to the sensor seems undamaged.
Is this normal? should I be concerned.
Thanks.

The sensor is actually the white plastic part underneath, and it screws into the tank. The rubber cover is just that - a cover, and it clips over the sensor but also has amazingly sticky goo to help hold it on.

Just push the cover back on and hopefully it will stay there. Either way, nothing to worry too much about.

I am always impressed at how sticky most of the Toyota goo (in various places) is after all these years.

Yeah mike,
You're not wrong.
bit dusty under there.
Next service she gets a steam clean.
I'm not comfortable with thought of blasting all those electrical goodies with the hose!!

They always seem to pop off, well mine does all the time, all you got to look out for is if that radiator tank cracks in that area.
