My uzz31 soarer has had some ongoing problems with the transmission not engaging into drive or reverse and also seeming to miss second gear all together when accelerating. Once as a cruising speed it will not kick-back, instead slowly accelerating in top gear even with the pedal right to the floor.
I have recently run a diagnostic test on it and come out with error code ECT 63...

Does anyone know what is causing this or know what ECT 63 refers to?

The symptoms match dodgy solenoids.

Sorry not to reply for so long, i've looked around the forums and it looks like there is a connection between ect 63 and the second transmission solenoid which would relate pretty much exactly to my problem. Trouble now is that i gotta find somewhere that can sell me a new set of solenoids. Think toyota parts and service might do it? Any one know where these are located on the gearbox?
