They are under the distributer caps, a plastic thing that spins with the camshaft and make contact with the metal parts inside the distributer caps which then sends the spark down the HT lead to the spark plug. Worth looking into, I changed mine on Saturday, the plastic bits were just crumbling apart. Easy to change, annoying to get to. If one of them is stuffed, the car will run but really rough. If you take the dizzy cap off, give it a clean on the inside. Hope this helps.

Top Gun leads have had good reports from owners of cars other than Soarers, but the V8 leads have always been too long and don't fit. They know about this, and told me they would fix it ages ago, but apparently they haven't.
I fitted Eagle leads to the UZZ30 with no problems.
The only thing is, that they have lower resistance than OEM leads, which probably means less interference suppression, but I haven't noticed any issues because of it.

I got the passenger side one done, no worries. The other side... bloody hell, I've taken a heap of stuff off, and now its too dark so I have to leave it till the morning. Lets see if I remember where everything goes.
About the driver's side one, what else do I need to remove? Can't seem to get it off. I've undone 3 bolts from the black plastic guard, removed the air intake totally, the top coil and its frame too.

Ah, to be honest Alex, I did the passenger side easy and then started doing the drivers side. Took out the air intake, moved radiator over flow bottle and disconnected a few hoses and then gave up. Put it all back together and I am going to leave it to Doug when I see him Thursday.

I am probably wrong, but the 4500 RPM cut might be the ECU is going into Limp Home mode and is protecting the engine because it has detected a problem with the electrics.
