I'm changing my mind every ten seconds about my plans for an exhaust upgrade. It's obvious from my readings that Neil's extractors are the goods - price and quality tick both boxes. But I'm stuck between Lukeys and Rivals...
I've heard the sound file of Pen's '30 with Lukeys, and it sounds bloody tough... very muscle car tone and lots of beef. If anyone has a V8 with a Rival system, I'd really appreciate it if you could share the ins and outs of your system with me, and if a sound file is possible I promise to be your friend!

I have the Rival STOC mufflers and can vouch for their quality, very well made and they look great!
The exhaust note is nice and deep at low revs but its up in the rev range when it sounds the best IMO. Remember its not just the muffler that contributes to the sound, its the whole system.

I will be going for twin 2.5", from high flow cats to straight through mufflers. I'm sold on the Rush headers, everyone says they're great with no drone at all, and plenty of meat when you want it. I'm just stuck between Lukey and Rival!
I guess it's going to come down to price - what I can get, when and for how much!

I would be thinking that 2.5" straight through to the mufflers (lukey or rival) will be LOUD. I have twin 2.5" pipes running through a pair of resonators and an X pipe then straight through to the mufflers and that is plenty loud when you want it to be. If I removed the resonators i'm sure it would be annoying and probably drone in cabin which you DONT want.
Here are a couple of pics of my system so you can see what i'm talking about.
Hi Glen, I have the large Rush extractors(done in HPC) with a twin 2.5" system from Lew. Mine system looks identical to Michael's though I don't have a 'x' pipe. The rival mufflers look great on the soarer, they don't look overdone at all. Michael, I agree with you on the sound, that note that it gets in the higher rev range is just pure ecstasy!!!

Not sure yet. How do the Rivals with their centred tips fit in the bumper cut-outs? I really love the symmetry of the double-offset mufflers... if they're sitting 2mm skew-wiff I think I'll pass, I'll see it every time I look at the car!
