between the TB and the AFM. it has a chamber on it that goes over the rocker cover with 2 holes in it. looks like it's something to dry out any water that might get sucked up or something. i could post a picture of it, but it's a standard piece on a UZZ30 soarer. thinking of cutting it off at the bottom and welding up the 2 holes. that way the air wont be heated up as it goes into the engine.

Maybe you do need to post up a pic to be sure everyone who responds knows exactly what you are talking about.
If you have done the BFI, as far as I know there is nothing left to do in that area.

I'm Pretty sure that 'chamber' is a special plenum designed to aid the motor on instantaneous throttle demands.

My CBR 1000 had a similar chamber.. basically it is a short term air reserve that can be drawn on when you stab the go pedal.. I'd leave it there. If it wasn't beneficial, toyota wouldn't have put it there :-)

Correct Tai.

Best not to touch things that serve a purpose like the chamber does unless you need to clear room for say something such as a supercharger. :-)

The plastic bladder is used to keep the inlet silent via air wave resonance. Most modern cars have them.

If you remove this bladder or use an aftermarket pipe, you will hear the inlet roar noise even when using the stock airfilter enclosure and paper filter.

Not all benefits are desired though. Depends what its purpose is. Take the whole stock exhaust system for example, it has a purpose but that may not be in line with someones needs.
