Buddy, it sounds like your ingitors/coil packs have not worked properly letting unburned fuel into your cats... making them glow red.
DONT USE THE CAR! VERY BAD
The cat ceramic matrix is probably blocked and melted so the gas cant escape making it rev slowly and badly. Check out the info around the forum about coil packs and ingnitors failing on the car, its definitely the culprit. You prob will need new cats now too.
One thing, why dont you have an air filter at the moment?

Cool, We'll get the coil packs looked at. It's not to much of a hassel because the car isn't registered yet anyway so won't be driven anywhere.
We had to have the first two cats hollowed out at the exhaust place and the center cat replaced because it was full of what looked like lava which must have been that ceramic matrix stuff. I think the bloke I bought it from drove it from Sydney to Townsville with clogged cats so I don't think that did the car much good.
Also we don't have an air filter because it was missing when I bought it. I'll be getting one shortly for it. Would it be better to get a standard one from Castle Hill Toyota or a TRD SportsAir Filter?
