Guys, we have finally got the Soarer running sweet. Thanks to your suggestions and information on this site, my mechanic is also learning. Fitted a new set of 19inch wheels and with the graphics it is looking exactly as i wanted.
The next project will be the sound system. Can anyone provide me with some information regarding what i need to ask down at my local car audio shop that will get me a system that replaces the existing or upgrades what i have. At the moment i can get static music on AM band only, touch screen is numb on the right side, cd stacker does not work at all and tape player is kaput.

What kind of setup do you want? Budget?
I think the stock speaker setup with factory sub is pretty good, if a little lacking in bass.
I reckon the easiest and best way would be to hook in an Aux input to the EMV and use an MP3 player as the music source, and maybe a little amp running a small sub.
Not to sure what to do about the touch screen tho...

I don't really want an expensive system as I'm not planning on keeping the car for more than a year or two. I just need something that will give me some music.

When i did the stereo in my soarer, i pulled out the EMV screen, then took out the stock tape deck, put in a new head unit and went from there, now have a 12" 450 rms sub in the boot powered by a 1000 watt amp, and new speakers inside, powered by a 650 4-way amp. car sounds sweet as, tho, copping a few fines for "too much low range frequencies"

If you want to control your Heater/Cooling without your EMV, you need to wire in a Non-EMV Climate Control Unit. Not a fun job or cheap one at that. It will take the average electrician or A/V Guy 3-4 hours to do.
I have removed my emv and replaced with a Non-EMV Climate Control and New LCD. Best thing I ever did.
I will admit I didn't do it myself, got a mate in the Car A/V Business.
